These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CharityConnect platform operated by CharityConnect, Inc. ("us", "we", or "our"). Description of Service
- CharityConnect is a platform that connects local charities with potential donors and volunteers
- We provide tools for charities to create profiles, share their mission, and communicate needs
- Users can search for and discover local charitable organizations in their community
- We facilitate connections but are not responsible for the actions of charities or users
User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate and truthful information when creating accounts or profiles
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms
- Respect the intellectual property rights of others
- Report any suspicious or inappropriate activity to our team
Charity Verification
- We make reasonable efforts to verify the legitimacy of registered charities
- Verification does not guarantee the quality or effectiveness of any charity
- Users should conduct their own due diligence before making donations
- We reserve the right to remove unverified or suspicious organizations
- Charities must maintain current 501(c)(3) status to remain on the platform
Prohibited Uses
You may not use CharityConnect for any of the following purposes:
- Impersonating another person or organization
- Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other users
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Using the platform for commercial purposes without permission
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations
- Interfering with the proper functioning of the platform
Intellectual Property Rights
The CharityConnect platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by CharityConnect, Inc. and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the platform, but you grant us a license to use, display, and distribute that content as necessary to provide our services.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of our platform without explicit permission.
Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Service "As Is": CharityConnect is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the platform's reliability, accuracy, or availability.
Third-Party Content: We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of content posted by charities or users. Users should verify information independently.
Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, CharityConnect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users or our platform.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting our support team. Upon termination, your right to use the platform will cease immediately.
Termination does not relieve you of any obligations incurred prior to termination.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of CharityConnect shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our platform after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
